Green-e and More: Developments in Renewable Energy Certification in the Voluntary Market

Register below to join the Houston Renewable Energy Network for a breakfast forum on “Center for Resource Solutions and Green-e Certification: The next step for voluntary renewable energy projects and products” on Thursday, March 3, 2016.

The Center for Resource Solutions’ Director of Strategic Partnerships Chip Wood and Green-e Analyst and Partnerships Specialist Sarah Busch will introduce you to their organization, how it serves the voluntary renewable energy market, its certification options for buyers and sellers of all kinds of renewable energy, how they track renewable energy certificates in the transaction process, and best practices for making solar claims to consumers. The Center for Resource Solutions is a nonprofit that administers the Green-e certification program for renewable energy and carbon offset products.

In addition, Greenberg Traurig Shareholder Christopher Bell will provide a brief update on the status of the Obama administration’s Clean Power Plan rule and related litigation.

A complimentary networking breakfast will begin at 7:30 a.m., with the presentation to follow at 8:00 a.m. in the auditorium at the Wells Fargo Building on 1000 Louisiana Street, Houston, Texas. In addition to metered street parking spots that may be open, valet parking is available for a fee in the building’s garage located on the corner of Lamar and Louisiana.

The program will conclude at 9:00 a.m., and there is no cost to attend the event.

The Houston Renewable Energy Network promotes awareness and education of renewable energy technologies and markets among energy professionals in the Greater Houston area and serves as a networking organization for those with commercial and/or career interests in the Renewable Energy space. The network hosts periodic speaking events that are open to the public.
